- Similar yield to LG Skyscraper and, tested by Agrii over the past two years, it gave consistently high treated (105%) and untreated (92%) yields. Average specific weight (75.9 kg/hl) in official trials. It is unsuitable for distilling or export under uks.
- It is suited to all regions of the UK including areas of high sterility risk. It can be grown on both heavy and light soils and it is a reasonable second wheat. Best drilled from the last week of September through to the end of December where it has been one of the highest yielding late-drill varieties in both Agrii and AHDB trials (105%).
- Medium height with average standing ability (5 untreated, 6 treated) so a robust PGR programme is recommended. Late maturity (+4) with only moderate sprouting resistance and average competitiveness against grassweeds.
- RGT Saki has good disease resistance against yellow rust (8.8) and Septoria tritici (6.5) but only average resistance against brown rust (4.1) in Agrii trials. It is resistant to orange wheat blossom midge.
