- A new soft feed wheat addition to the UK Recommended List with similar yields to Skyscraper. Tested by Agrii over the past two years, it gave consistently high treated (102%) and untreated (87%) yields but a relatively low specific weight (73.2 kg/hl). It is unsuitable for distilling or export under uks.
- It is suited to all regions of the UK, although it should not be grown in areas of high sterility risk until more information is available. It can be grown on both heavy and light soils and it is an average-performing second wheat. Best drilled from the last week of September through to the end of December where it has been one of the highest yielding late-drill varieties in official trials (107%).
- It produces medium height straw with average standing ability (5 untreated, 6 treated) so a robust PGR programme is recommended. Medium-late maturity (+3) with only moderate sprouting resistance and its competitiveness against grassweed is still being evaluated. RGT Saki has good disease resistance against Yellow Rust (9.0) and Septoria tritici (6.2) but only average resistance against Brown Rust (4.9) in Agrii trials.
- It is resistant to Orange Wheat Blossom Midge.
