Pi Pinnacle was added to the AHDB Recommended List in 2024 and comes from the independent UK breeder, Mike Pickford.

It is the highest yielding conventional variety in Agrii’s trials (102% treated, 89% untreated) and the most widely grown.

It has shown consistent performance across the UK with its best performance in the north (108%).

It has an average oil content (45.1%).

Pi Pinnacle performs across all regions and soil types including more fertile situations.

It has a reasonable speed of development in both the autumn (8) but slower in the spring (5) and best suited to earlier drilling.

It goes on to produce an average height canopy (158 cm), very stiff (RL 8) and low lodging risk (RL 8; Agrii 8).

It has medium maturity (RL 5; Agrii 5).

Reasonable all-round disease resistance with light leaf spot (RL 6; Agrii 7), average phoma resistance (4) and intermediate resistance to Verticillium stem stripe and good late season stem health.
