Variety Positioning

  • The highest yielding spring barley on the UK Recommended List (106% treated, 96% untreated). In test for brewing and commercial scale crops are planned for large brewing trials after tests crops are harvested. Bred by Nordic Seeds and tested extensively by Agrii, who are UK agents for the variety. It has performed at a similar high level in Agrii trials over the past three years (107% treated, 98% untreated) and high specific weight (65.9 kg/hl).
  • Skyway shows excellent agronomic characteristics. Medium height (71 cm), stiff straw with good lodging (7) and brackling resistance (8) and medium-early maturity.
  • High untreated yields reflect the excellent all round disease resistance of the varieties with good ratings for Mildew (9), Brown Rust (5) and Rhynchosporium (6). Agrii trial show that it is moderately susceptible to Bet Blotch.
