- Bold grain and strong dough characteristics attracted the interest of a regional miller for wholemeal flour. Premiums, based on protein content, can be significantly higher than those from standard bread-making types. This combined with its late-drill suitability make it an ideal choice after potatoes and sugar beet or in high grassweed situations. Contracts are available in East Anglia and the East Midlands.
- Ideal for late drilling, and for its best performance drill from mid-October through to the end of December. Fast developing in autumn and spring and is very competitive against grassweeds. Good overall foliar disease resistance with a rating of 8.0 for Yellow Rust, 5.8 for Brown Rust and 5.1 for Septoria tritici.
- Requires a robust PGR programme, especially in more fertile situations. It has very early maturity (-4), making it earlier than Cordiale and an ideal entry crop for oilseed rape.
