Glasshouse Supervisor
We are now looking for a Glasshouse Supervisor to join our R&D team at Throws Farm. This role plays an essential part in supporting the day-to-day coordination and running of our glasshouse and polytunnel facilities, helping to deliver high-quality trials for both internal teams and external stakeholders. Working closely with the wider R&D team, this role will support trial operations, facility organisation and practical glasshouse activities, contributing to Agrii’s wider innovation and knowledge transfer programme.
What you’ll do:
- Support the day-to-day running and coordination of the glasshouse & polytunnel facilities.
- Work closely with the R&D team to help plan trial activity, prioritise workloads and support year-round use of facilities.
- Assist with the delivery of trial protocols, including lighting, irrigation and crop input requirements.
- Ensure glasshouse areas are maintained to a high standard, including cleaning and preparation between trials.
- Operate and maintain spray systems and other glasshouse equipment and tools, ensuring accurate calibration and record keeping.
- Assist with practical trial work including spraying, sampling, assessments and harvesting.
- Monitor and support pest and disease control activities in line with trial requirements.
- Help organise consumables and materials required for ongoing trial work.
- Support open days and demonstration events, assisting with site preparation and stakeholder visits.
What you’ll bring:
- Experience working within a glasshouse, horticultural or trials environment.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail and a proactive and flexible approach (this will be required during peak seasonal periods).
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Experience operating or maintaining glasshouse/trials equipment would be advantageous.
