Variety Positioning

One of the highest yielding 2-row varieties on the Recommended List.
Tall with stiff straw but disease resistance package is mixed.

  • Pushed off the top spot on the UK Recommended List by newer varieties but remains the market leader, at least for the
    time being.
  • It has produced consistently high yields in Agrii trials (102% treated, 89% untreated) over the past three years with an average specific weight (70.6 kg/hl).
  • Suitabe for all regions and soils with particularly strong performance on heavy soils (107%) in official trials.
  • Medium height (85 cm treated, 95 cm untreated), stiff straw
    (8 treated, 8 untreated) and medium-early maturity (0).
  • Like most 2-rows, KWS Tardis has shown relatively poor grassweed competitiveness in Stow Longa trials.
  • Average disease resistance against mildew (5) (5), Rhynchosporium (6) (6), net blotch (5) (5) and brown rust (6) (5).
  • Resistant to barley yellow mosaic virus.
