Variety Positioning
- A high input, high output variety with very high yields (105% treated, 78% untreated) and very bold grain (78.9 kg/hl).
- However, careful management is needed to get the best out of this variety as yellow rust resistance has been overcome.
- Suitable for all regions and soil types with particularly good
performance on lighter soils. Drill from the end of the last week of September right through to the end of January. - It is an average second wheat. Straw is tall (94 cm) and not particularly stiff – treated (7) (6) and untreated (6) (4), so a decent PGR regime will be needed to achieve the high yields. Medium maturity (+1) (+3).
- Disease scores are a bit of a mixed bag with mildew (6), yellow rust (4.7) (3.2), brown rust (5.5) (5.0), good Septoria tritici (6.4) (7.2) and moderately resistant to fusarium ear blight (6.8).
- Resistant to orange wheat blossom midge.
