|Type: Group 4, Hard Feed||Pedigree: (Hereford x Oakley) x Hereford|
- A high input, high output variety with very high treated (103%) and untreated (80%) yields in Agrii trials over the past two years. It is also the highest yielding hard feed wheat on the UK Recommended List with excellent bold grain (78.4 kg/hl, AHDB).
- Suitable for all regions of the UK including high sterility risk areas. Best drilled from the end of the last week of September right through to the end of January. It performs across soil types with particularly good performance on lighter soils, but fertile soils should be avoided. Good second wheat performance and average competitiveness against grassweeds. Medium-late maturity (+3).
- It has very tall straw (95 cm) and is relatively weak (untreated 4, treated 6) so a robust PGR programme is essential. Lighter soils, later drilling and lower seed rates are favoured to help reduce the lodging risk.
- Disease resistance shows it to have good Septoria tritici (7.4) resistance but weaker yellow rust (3.7) and brown rust (5.0) ratings than the official scores suggest so these need to be monitored carefully. It is resistant to orange wheat blossom midge.
