Variety Positioning
- High yields in Agrii trials over the past two years (100% treated, 86% untreated) with average specific weight and very similar yield performance in AHDB trials (100% treated, 81% untreated, 75.1 kg/hl).
- Suitable across the UK (excluding areas of high sterility risk) and all soil types including lighter soils. It can be grown either as a first or second wheat. Unsuitable for early drilling but a good late driller in Agrii trials but still best drilled before the end of December. Its grassweed competitiveness is still being evaluated.
- Average height with good stem stiffness (7 treated, 8 untreated) but later maturity (+5 days) compared with Skyfall. Average sprouting resistance (6).
- Relatively good disease resistance against yellow rust (9), Septoria tritici (6) and mildew (6) but weak on brown rust (3.1). Moderate susceptibility to fusarium ear blight (6.5) and resistant to orange wheat blossom midge.
