Trials Officer

Agrii are looking to employ a Trials Officer for our Throws Farm Site in Dunmow.

Agrii is a leading provider of agronomy services, technology, and strategic advice. We are looking to recruit a Trials Officer to join our dedicated team at Throws Farm on a permanent basis. Focusing predominantly on combinable crops, our next Trials Officer will work amongst an industry-leading team and be responsible for supporting sustainable food production across UK agriculture through high-quality trials and impactful data.

What you’ll do:

  • Deliver industry-leading trials across a range of combinable crops, ensuring all practical aspects are carried out to the highest ORETO standards.
  • Plan and prioritise workloads in collaboration with Trials Managers to meet seasonal and protocol requirements.
  • Conduct a variety of field operations including site finding, seed preparation, drilling, marking out, spraying, assessments, maintenance, data collection, and harvesting.
  • Accurately identify crop growth stages, weeds, pests, and diseases to support precise assessments and product efficacy data.
  • Maintain and calibrate trial equipment, ensuring all records are up to date.
  • Communicate trial progress effectively to Technical Managers and support open days and plot tours to showcase our research.

What you’ll bring:

  • An agricultural or biosciences qualification (or equivalent practical experience).
  • A high level of organisation with strong accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to adapt to seasonal demands and workload requirements.
  • Experience using MS Office; familiarity with ARM and statistical analysis software is advantageous.
