The most comprehensive agronomy training programme in the UK

In 2016, we launched our Agrii ‘iq’ training programme, which we believe is an industry leading initiative to support new talent in Agriculture.

Between 2016 and 2023, 60 Trainee Agronomists have started their iq journey on the ‘educate’ programme with many of them now successful Agronomists.

About iq

Our ‘educate’ programme is an 18 – 24-month programme comprised of 15 – 20 modules.

During this period, you will spend time building your BASIS knowledge along with technical knowledge and core interpersonal skills to help you throughout your careers.

This training supports you to gain your professional qualification, with the BASIS Certificate in Crop Protection and FACTS being essential to your role.

Practical and Supported Agronomy Training

During your training, you will also have regular check-ins with your Area Business Manager and Mentor to ensure that you have the right support to flourish and deliver in your role.

Once graduated from the ‘educate’ programme you can develop further, many of our people go on to study for their BASIS diploma, typically starting with BASIS Soil and Water.

Everyone completing our iq programmes has the opportunity to meet key individuals within the business to learn more about the different areas, and we are continually reviewing and evolving the iq programmes to ensure that they remain fit for the future challenges agronomists will face.
