What does Brexit mean for the future of agriculture in Wales?

We’re looking forward to welcoming Dr Andrew Clark, Director of Policy at the NFU to our South Wales iFarm event on 3rd November 2016.

Dr Clark will give an update on the latest policy situation relating to Brexit, and ongoing NFU consultation and lobbying work, as well as the current timescales for action and changes. He’ll answer questions on what new trading agreements might mean for Welsh agriculture, and current success stories, such as Welsh lamb exports He’ll also look at how devolution fits with decision making at a UK government level, and what the impact of Brexit might be on current regulations, cross compliance and payment schemes.

At the event, we’ll also be looking at the OSR trial plots at the iFarm, and hearing from Agrii agronomist Andrew Richards on how we can achieve greater consistency in OSR yields, in what has been a different year. Dr Syed Shah, Agrii R&D Manager will talk on how micronutrition can help increase farm profitability.

Please contact on sarah.wilkinson@agrii.co.uk or call 07712 322092 for more information, and if you’d like to attend the event. We’d also welcome any questions for Dr Andrew Clark in advance of the event. Please follow @AgriiWest on Twitter to find out more on the run up to, and during, the event.
