Variety Positioning

• Matrix CL was a game-changer when it was introduced in 2022 as it bridged the yield gap of earlier Clearfield hybrids and has become the go-to variety for many growers.  

• While the Clearfield system accounts for only about 4% of the market it remains and important tool to control difficult cruciferous weeds.

• It produces consistently high yields (95% treated, 85% untreated, 46.8% oil) making it 9% higher yielding than InV1266 CL.

• It comes with RLM7 phoma, TuYV and pod shatter resistance, which all contribute to its higher yields.

• Its best performance is in the East and West regions, which are also the main market for this technology.

• Suitable for all soil types. Relatively tall (153 cm), moderately stiff (7) but lodging seen in Agrii trials (3) and early maturity (6) (8).

• Like most Clearfield varieties it has an average light leaf spot rating (6) (5) but has RLM7 phoma/canker resistance (6) (8) but susceptible Verticillium stem stripe.
