Variety Positioning

Cromputer is a new addition to the AHDB Recommended List provides a significant step up in gross output from Crome and improved disease resilience.

While not quite as high yielding as Crusoe, it is similar in many other respects.

Reserved seed will be available this autumn for early delivery which remains important for the northern market where drilling is early.

It has performed well in Agrii trials (95% treated, 88% untreated) and delivers a high oil content (46.6%).

Like Crusoe, yield potential is higher due to its improved vigour, disease profile and TuVY resistance.

It has a reasonably fast speed of development in both the autumn (8) and the spring (6) similar to that of Crusoe. Relatively short canopy (148 cm) that is stiff (8) (6). It shows and medium maturity (5) (6).

Good light leaf spot resistance (6) (5), and much improved phoma/stem canker resistance (5) (7) and moderately resistant to Verticillium stem stripe.

It does not carry the pod shatter resistance trait.
