Costello - Group 4 Winter Wheat
GROUP 4 (Hard Feed)
Timaru x W151
- A solid variety with very bold grain and good all-round disease resistance. Suitable for all soil types and regions and it is a very stable variety.
- Best drilled from mid-September through to the end of December. Best grown as a first wheat.
- Medium to high tillering capacity with average competitiveness against grassweeds and moderately late maturity (+3). Straw of moderate height and stiff (8 untreated, 9 treated), plus a good disease profile for mildew (7.8) yellow rust (9.0), and Septoria tritici (6.2) but brown rust (4.3) needs watching carefully.
