Breeder:

Type:

Pedigree:

Senova

GROUP 4 (Hard Feed)

Timaru x W151

Variety Positioning

  • A solid variety with very bold grain and good all-round disease resistance. Suitable for all soil types and regions and it is a very stable variety.
  • Best drilled from mid-September through to the end of December. Best grown as a first wheat.
  • Medium to high tillering capacity with average competitiveness against grassweeds and moderately late maturity (+3). Straw of moderate height and stiff (8 untreated, 9 treated), plus a good disease profile for mildew (7.8) yellow rust (9.0), and Septoria tritici (6.2) but brown rust (4.3) needs watching carefully. Moderate susceptibility to fusarium ear blight, but not resistant to orange wheat blossom midge.
