Type: 6-row Feed | Hybrid Barley |
- Agrii’s biggest selling hybrid in autumn 2021. High treated (106%) yield and average untreated (76%) yield in Agrii trials over the past three years. It also has the lowest screening losses of any six-row type in official trials and a high specific weight (70.4 kg/hl AHDB). Ideal for use on lower potential sites, lighter soils, situations where grassweeds are a problem and increasingly used for anaerobic digestion.
- Very stable performance across all regions and soil types. Best drilled from late September through to mid-October. While very competitive against grassweeds, Agrii trials at Stow Longa suggest that it should be used to maintain already low weed populations. The reason for this is simply that the drilling date cannot be reliably delayed beyond October without risking yield loss.
- Slightly shorter (112 cm untreated, 103 cm treated) than Bazooka but Agrii trials show it to be prone to lodging (7) even when treated with a robust PGR programme. Agrii trials show it to have medium maturity. Good disease resistance with mildew (7) and net blotch (7), Rhynchosporium (7) but weak against brown rust (4). Resistant to Barley Yellow Mosaic Virus.
