Agrii Vegetable Seed Enhancement Team Successfully Completes Second Season
News - 03.05.24
Based at Throws Farm in Essex, the Agrii Vegetable Seed Enhancement (VSE) was established in 2019 to support vegetable growers with new seed treatment solutions. It has now successfully completed its second coating season.
The Agrii VSE range prioritises biologicals, biostimulants, and nutrient mixtures added to seeds to promote plant development, enhance tolerance to abiotic stress factors, and facilitate the uptake of water and nutrients.
Encrustment, film coating, and priming options are also available. These combine with the treatment to promote rapid uniform germination and seed flowability during sowing.
Film coating offers considerable advantages with increased seed flow during sowing via smoothing and additional weight of the otherwise, often irregularly shaped, and small vegetable seeds. This increased uniformity provides compatible use with modern precision drills. VSE continues to maintain its focus on main crops such as carrots, onions, and parsnips. Additionally, it plans to expand its portfolio by supporting other crops.
This spring, VSE is collaborating with Hazera, marking an exciting development aimed at evaluating the potential of biostimulant seed treatments on key leafy crops. The team is eagerly anticipating obtaining results from the field, which they will be happy to share with you in upcoming issues.
With a range of options, VSE aims to provide a tailored solution for each grower, depending on their individual circumstances. The team has been encouraged by the positive feedback so far and would like to thank new and existing customers for their support.
