Thank you very much to everyone who entered our summer Farm Saved Seed survey and prize draw.

Everyone who completed the survey was entered into a prize draw to win a luxury hamper, and we’re pleased to announce that the winner of the hamper is Francis Megginson of E.R. Megginson and Sons, based near Driffield.

The survey gave us some great insights into why you do (or don’t) choose to farm save your seed, and the image below illustrate some of the main plus and minus points that were raised most frequently by those who filled in the survey.

By far the main plus point that our survey respondents gave for farm saving was the cost saving involved, which we estimate to be around £100/tonne.
