✚ Similar to KWS Extase in disease resistance and agronomy

Variety Positioning

• A high yielding Group 2 milling-type that is similar to and higher yielding than KWS Extase.

• It has high yields in both AHDB (104% treated, 87% untreated) and Agrii trials (104% treated, 75% treated), bold grain (78.8 kg/hl) and high HFN (296s).  

• With relatively low protein content (12.1%) it might be used as a UK blending wheat but it is unsuitable for export under ukp.

• Suitable for all regions of the UK.  It is best grown on heavier land and sown in the main drilling window with its optimum performance no later than the end of October. 

• Average height (89 cm) and reasonably stiff straw (RL 8; Agrii 7) treated and (RL 8; Agrii 6) untreated and early maturity (RL -1; Agrii 0).  

• Avoid areas of high sterility risk until more information is available. Acceptable second wheat performance.

• Similar disease ratings to KWS Extase with evidence that resistance to both yellow rust (RL 7;  Agrii 5) and Septoria tritici (RL 7; Agrii 6) is slipping. 

• There is evidence of weakness against mildew (RL 6; Agrii 4) and to stem-based diseases in Agrii trials. 

• Brown rust resistance is average (RL 6; Agrii 6), so too is eyespot (4.5) due to the lack of PCH1 resistance. 

• Furthermore, it is not resistant to orange wheat blossom midge.
