Variety Positioning

• Agrii biggest selling wheat last autumn with consistently high yields in both official (105% treated, 89% untreated) and Agrii trials (106% treated, 85% untreated) and good disease and agronomic characteristics.

• It has good physical grain quality (78.5 kg/hl) that suits the millers and exporters alike.  It also has a medium rating for distilling and produces high spirit yields.

• Best sown in the main drilling window and suitable for all regions except areas of high sterility risk. Performs well across a range of soil types including lighter soils.

• It has PCH1 eyespot resistance and shows acceptable performance as a second wheat and is competitive against grassweeds.

• It is very fast to develop in the spring and trials suggest that straw strength is not as stiff as official ratings suggest; (RL 7 Agrii 5) untreated and (RL 7; Agrii 6) treated, so a robust PGR programme is advised.

• Medium to early (RL 0; Agrii+1) maturity but susceptible to spouting (5).

• A reasonable disease resistance profile with mildew (RL 6; Agrii 6) but there is evidence to suggest ratings are slipping for yellow rust (RL 6; Agrii 5), brown rust (RL 6; Agrii 5) and Septoria tritici (RL 6; Agrii 6).

• Moderately susceptible to fusarium ear blight (5.7) and stem-base diseases.

• Resistant to soil borne wheat mosaic virus but not orange wheat blossom midge.
