Variety Positioning

• SY Quantock was introduced into the Agrii portfolio last year with high yields (100% treated (81% untreated) which reflects its good all-round disease resistance.

• It has become the successor of SY Kingsbarn with higher yields, improved disease resistance and slightly stiffer straw.

• It has performed in a similar way in AHDB trials (107% treated, 91% untreated) and has a relatively high specific weight (71.0 kg/hl).

• Consistent performance across soil types with strongest performance in the west (108%) and north (107%).

• Tall straw (113 cm untreated, 106 cm treated) with reasonable stem stiffness (7 treated, 7 untreated) and, like SY Kingsbarn, it is susceptible to brackling.

• Very competitive against grassweeds and early maturity (-1).

• Good disease resistance against mildew (RL 7; Agrii 6), Rhynchosporium (RL 7), brown rust (RL 7; Agrii 6) and slightly weaker on net blotch (RL 5; Agrii 5).

• Resistant to barley mild mosaic and yellow mosaic virus (strain 1).
