At Agrii, we're committed not only to innovation in sustainable farming - but also to engaging with the next generation of farmers, agronomists, and environmental leaders.

That’s why we were proud to take part in the recent Focus on Farming event at North Farm, a day designed to connect secondary school students with real-world agriculture.

Funded by AHDB and supported by LEAF Education, the event brought together more than 300 students from three local schools, offering them hands-on learning experiences through a series of farm-based workshops.

Demand to attend was so high, each school had over 100 students expressing interest, a clear sign of the growing curiosity around food, farming, and the environment.

What We Delivered

Our Environmental Services and Agronomy teams led interactive sessions that showed students how science and sustainability go hand in hand. Through soil demonstrations, discussions about crop nutrition, and real-life examples of regenerative farming techniques, students got a practical insight into the challenges and the opportunities within modern agriculture.

The enthusiasm and curiosity from the students were inspiring. Many asked detailed questions about careers in agriculture, the role of agronomists, and how technology is shaping sustainable food production. Several teachers have since reached out for follow-up careers advice and work experience support.

Why It Matters

Events like Focus on Farming are more than just educational days out - they’re vital moments to build connections between farms and classrooms.

As the farming industry continues to evolve, it’s essential we support schools in delivering accurate, engaging, and inspiring messages about food production, land management, and the environment.

We're proud to have contributed to a day that was described by teachers as “exceptional” and “a fantastic way to bring the curriculum to life.”
