Variety Positioning
- The UK’s first winter wheat variety with resistance to Barley Yellow Dwarf Virus (BYDV). Its yield performance has dropped back over the past three years (97% treated, 69% untreated) and average specific weight (75.5 kg/hl AHDB).
- Best grown on heavy soils and drilled before the end of October. Relatively weak straw (6 treated, 5 treated) and later to mature (+4).
- Relatively poor disease resistance, yellow rust (5.1), Septoria tritici (5.6) and very susceptible to fusarium ear blight. Not resistant to orange wheat blossom midge.
