Region: E&W Region Type: Hybrid

Variety Positioning

  • A leading RL candidate for the E&W region that is in Agrii trials for the first time this year. It performed well in National List trials with a very high gross output (113%) and high oil content (45.4%). It has a moderate autumn and spring growth habit, stiff canopy and outstanding disease resistance which makes it a suitable variety for early drilling.
  • Suitable for all soils and the East and West region of the UK until further information is available. It can be drilled from early August right through to early September. Relatively tall (140 cm), good stem stiffness (8), lodging resistance (9) and early maturity (8).
  • Tennyson has good light leaf spot rating (6), excellent Phoma/stem canker (9) resistance and the breeder claims good tolerance against Verticillium wilt. It does not have the trait for pod shatter resistance.
