- High treated (101%) and untreated (80%) yields and high specific weight (75.7 kg/hl) in Agrii trials over the past two years. It has the highest HFN (288s) of any soft wheat on the UK Recommended List and very good sprouting resistance. Rated ‘Medium’ for distilling but is not approved for uks export.
- Suitable for all regions of the UK including areas of high sterility risk. Best performance on medium or heavy soils and best grown as a first wheat as its second wheat performance is relatively poor. More affected by the drought in 2018 than LG Skyscraper, in spite of having similar tall straw. Best drilled from early October through to the end of December but it has been sown successfully through into February.
- A fast-developing variety but trials suggest that it only has average competitiveness against grassweeds. One of the tallest varieties and, while not the stiffest (untreated 6, treated 7), it is stiffer than LG Skyscraper. Similar mid-maturity (+1) and it is unlikely to sprout. Good overall disease resistance with Yellow Rust (6.8), Septoria tritici (5.4) and Brown Rust (3.8) based on Agrii ratings. Moderately susceptible to Fusarium Ear Blight but resistant to Orange Wheat Blossom Midge.
