- A high yielding (102% treated, 85% untreated) biscuit wheat in Agrii trials but with lower specific weight (75.6 kg/hl). Fully recommended for domestic and uks for export markets but it is unsuitable for distilling. The variety represents 6% share of the UK seed market.
- More suited to England and Wales with its performance dropping off further north. Best grown on heavier soils and consistent as a second wheat. Relatively fast speed of development and it can be drilled successfully from the last week of September through to the end of December and beyond. It has average competitiveness against grassweeds.
- It has relatively short, stiff straw (6 untreated, 7 treated) and medium maturity (+1), based on Agrii results.
- Disease resistance is reasonably good against Septoria tritici (5.2) and yellow rust (6.5) but it shows a significant weakness to brown rust (2.5) and fusarium ear blight. It is resistant to orange wheat blossom midge.
