Alasco

Breeder: Limagrain Printable PDF
Region: UK WIDE Type:  Clubroot Tolerant Hybrid

Variety Positioning

  • A relatively new clubroot resistant variety with high yields and a vigorous growth habit in the autumn. Agrii’s trials have shown it to have a faster speed of growth compared with both Crome and DK Platinium. High oil content (45.2%).
  • Relatively early to grow away in the spring to produce a medium height canopy (153 cm) that is stiff (8). Medium flowering (5) and early maturity (6) are also ideal for the North.
  • A good disease resistance profile combining Light Leaf Spot (6) with RLM7 Phoma/ Stem Canker (7) resistance. It also incorporates the valuable pod shatter resistance trait which is now standard in most of the hybrids from Limagrain.
  • Like all the clubroot varieties, Alasco should be used as part of an integrated approach using other cultural methods of control. Recommended for use on clubroot infected land only to minimise the risk of resistance to this valuable genetic trait.
