Tell us about your role, what do you do?
I am the Supply Chain Manager for Agrii and myself and my team are responsible for getting agrochemicals into the company. The team consists of 6 members, 2 centrally and 2 in each region.

My role is predominantly purchasing stock into Alconbury and making sure we have the right amount product in the right place at the right time. To do this I’m constantly speaking with Suppliers, Depots, Regional/Team Managers and the Crop protection team.

I will be looking at suppliers plans, team/regional forecasts across hundreds/thousands of products. I will also monitor a daily product flow at Alconbury and both regions.


How did you get started in the industry? 

By chance really, my role at British gas had got very stale and I came across a role in UAP. I went for the interview and as they say, the rest is history.


What do you love most about your job?

Not one year is the same, Foot n Mouth, The Merger, Brexit, its either too dry or too wet. It’s an ongoing challenge that’s what I love about it


What is the biggest challenge you face in your role and why?

The whole role is challenging, but the day to day of getting the right stock in the right place at the right time is probably the most challenging.
