One of the consequences of the review of agriculture support in the UK has resulted in increasing attention and focus towards stewardship and ultimately carbon balance.

Soil health is one of the key drivers in helping to optimise nutrient use efficiency, carbon capture and productivity. Our joint studies with farm hosts

David Hankey and Ian Wilkinson have already shown some pointers on how cover crops, companion cropping and integrated crop production can work in the north. Rob Bowes will be presenting the results from the 2020 trials.
We have now entered the transition phase where BPS payments are being phased out. Laura Wraith will outline the roadmap for change and help navigate through the transition period.
