Farm Saved Seed Support Assistant

We are looking to employ a Farm Saved Seed Assistant, to join our team in Wigtoft. 

The FSS assistant will provide an efficient Farm Saved Seed service to our customers in and around the Wigtoft area. Working alongside a unit operator, our next assistant will inherit the following responsibilities:

• Preparing machines, equipment, materials & supplies.
• Traveling to sites, setting up machines, preparing bags, labels and other equipment.
• Control bag filling, monitor chemical coverage of seed, record production, and label bags.
• Any other duties as defined by your Manager/ machine operator.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills/experience:

• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Positive work ethic.
• An understanding of machinery and some basic engineering skills are desirable.
• A counterbalance forklift truck licence would be desirable

Whilst training will be provided, we are ideally looking for a candidate with a desire to work in the agriculture sector, as well as some form of experience on a Farm.

This position comes with significant manual handling.

Overtime will be expected during peak times, therefore a strong flexible work ethic is required to meet the fluctuating demands of our business.

This is a full time, permanent position with a basic 40 hour working week.
