Welcome to Agrii’s Rural Community Champion campaign!

I’m Immy, and alongside my colleague Sarah we will be leading a project to find and reward our local, rural community champions. We are really excited about it and we hope you enjoy following our blog and finding out about the UK’s rural heroes!

A hero can be defined as a person of distinguished courage or ability, admired for their honourable qualities and contribution; carried out for the benefit of others. The efforts of our local heroes are frequently understated, often displayed through a quite consideration for others, there are plenty of examples;

  • Fundraising efforts
  • Care of elderly neighbours
  • Restoration of village buildings
  • Maintenance of village property
  • Organisation of community events
  • Organisation of farm visits for school children
  • Support of community projects

Help us find the UK’s rural hero and make your nomination today – it’s really easy, all you have to do is follow this link and enter the details of a person who you consider a ‘bit of a hero’ in your local community, tell us why you think they deserve the recognition and submit your nomination!

We want to recognise as many of the UK’s rural heroes as we can. In order to do this we will identify 20 local winners from all of the nominations we receive and each local winner will receive a cheque for £50 from Agrii!

To help us identify a national winner we will enlist the help of an expert judging panel who will shortlist our 20 local winners to three regional finalists, from here customers of Agrii vote for the winner at our events this summer to find the UK’s local hero for 2015!

Sarah and I will be officially launching the Rural Community Champions campaign at LAMMA 2015, if you know a local hero come along and visit us on stand 720, Hall 7 and make your nomination! We look forward to meeting you!

Get nominating!!
