New Precision Agronomy Management Service
An innovative new precision agronomy service integrating Agrii’s industry-leading SoilQuest soil scanning and mapping business with the company’s growing range of advanced arable management and decision support services is being introduced across the UK this winter.
Through its own specialist web portal, Agrii Precision Services (APS) allows customers and their agronomists to store, access, update and manage all their field-by-field soil mapping, input, crop yield and performance data on-line with the greatest possible ease and accuracy in complete compatibility with the most widely-used field recording and management programs.
For all three levels of the SoilQuest precision agronomy package – full scanning, soil reflection or whole field,– APS is designed to make the most accurate farm information and R&D-led agri-intelligence immediately available for management decision-making.
Using rule sets developed from Agrii’s own as well as independent research, the APS software can be used to automatically create variable nutrient application and seed rate plans as well as to monitor crops through satellite imagery and a range of other exciting applications.
“The introduction of APS is a key element in our multi-million pound investment in arable research and development,” explained Agrii’s Chief Information Officer, Derek Wilson. “Precision agronomy is central to our plans to help UK growers make the very most of their future crop production opportunities.
“Precision farming information is only valuable to the extent that it can actually be applied in practice. Our innovative service is designed to ensure all the available data is effectively and consistently combined with the expertise of our network of agronomists informed by the best R&D in the business.”
