It has been over ten years since the demise of Atrazine, and in that time many broad leaved weeds and grasses have flourished in maize. Early control is important to allow for development of maize and with the herbicides available to us today more diligence is required to manage many populations. For further details on how to control weeds that need priority management, and herbicide programmes, please contact your Agrii agronomist, or get in touch with us using the contact details provided in this Directory. Virus can lead to reduction in yield of more than 30%. WEED CONTROL A high level of weed control is essential to maximise beet yields. Just one tall weed per square metre, such as fat-hen, can reduce yields by 10% or more. However, due to its sensitive nature, fodder beet will generally require several low doses of herbicide to keep the crop weed-free whilst ensuring crop safety.
